1. Acceptance of these terms

By downloading, installing, or using PrayUp ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. What PrayUp is

PrayUp is a personal Islamic prayer and habit companion: prayer-time calculation, reminders, worship logging, reflection, and related tools. It is designed to be encouraging and non-judgmental, and to help you notice and sustain your own practice over time.

3. PrayUp does not issue religious rulings

This is the section that matters most and should not be softened in any future revision. PrayUp is a tracking and reflection tool, not a source of Islamic religious authority. It does not issue fatwas, does not resolve disputed questions of fiqh, and does not represent any single school of thought (madhhab) as authoritative over another. Prayer-time calculation methods, dua content, and any other religious content in the App are sourced from established, named references (see docs/explanation/roadmap.md's "Religious content sourcing" section) and presented as-is, with attribution — never authored, edited, or adjudicated by the App itself.

For any question of religious ruling, obligation, or practice, consult a qualified scholar or your own trusted local imam. The App is a companion to your practice, not a substitute for one.

4. Your data

PrayUp is local-first: your prayer logs, intentions, and other worship data are stored on your own device, and the App works without an account. If you choose to sign in, that data is also backed up to your account so it can follow you to another device. Your data is not sold or shared. The Privacy Policy (https://prayup.qwiku.com/en/privacy/) is the complete, current statement of what is stored, where, and how to delete it.

5. No warranty

The App is provided "as is." Prayer times, reminder timing, and all calculated or displayed information are provided for convenience and are not guaranteed to be free of error. You are responsible for verifying prayer times and religious obligations independently of the App if precision matters to you (e.g., for a specific fiqh ruling that depends on exact timing).

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer(s) of PrayUp are not liable for any damages arising from use of the App, including but not limited to missed prayers, incorrect prayer times, or reliance on any content within the App.

7. Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the App changes. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
